Q: What is The Kabayan?
A: The Kabayan is an online marketplace where individuals can buy, sell, exchange, or rent items, list services, find jobs, post announcements, and connect with local communities.

Q: Who can use The Kabayan?
A: Anyone! Whether you’re looking to list something to sell or rent, seeking services, want to find a job, or are simply browsing — you can use The Kabayan. You’ll need to register to post ads, message sellers, or use favorites.

 

Account & Registration

Q: How do I register?
A: Click “Register” at the top of the site, fill in your details, confirm via email if required, and then you’re good to go.

Q: Do I need an account to browse?
A: No — you can browse all listings. But to post an ad, contact a seller, save favorites, or manage postings, you’ll need to be logged in.

Q: What if I forget my password?
A: Use the “Forgot password” link on the login page. We’ll send instructions to your registered email to reset it.

 

Posting Ads / Listing

Q: How do I post an ad?
A: After logging in, click “Post an ad” (or “Place an ad”). Select the proper category (Sell, Rent, Vehicles, Services, etc.), provide details (title, description, photos, price), and submit.

Q: Are there fees to post an ad?
A: Basic ads are usually free; premium listings (highlighted, featured) may incur charges. Check the listing page or during posting for applicable fees.

Q: How long will my ad be active?
A: Ads remain visible until you delete them, they expire (if there is an expiration policy), or the item/service is no longer available. Premium listings may have specific durations.

Q: Can I edit or delete my ad?
A: Yes — you can manage your posted ads from your account dashboard. Edits allowed on title, description, photos, pricing, etc. You can also remove an ad when it’s no longer relevant.

 

Browsing & Searching

Q: How do I search for items or services?
A: Use the search box at the top. You can type keywords (e.g. “motorbike,” “cleaning service,” “apartment for rent”), then filter by category, location, price, etc.

Q: What are “Premium” listings?
A: Premium listings are highlighted or featured ads that may get greater visibility. They usually appear in special sections like “Today’s Premium Selection.” They might cost extra to post.

Q: How do I save favorites or keep track of items I like?
A: Use the “Favorite” button/icon on listings to save them. You can later access all your favorited items from your profile/account.

 

Messaging & Communication

Q: How can I contact a seller or service provider?
A: On each listing there’s a “Send message” button (or similar). You can message directly through the platform. Don’t share sensitive personal information until you’re comfortable.

Q: Is there any rating or verification for sellers?
A: (If applicable) We are working on / provide ratings based on user feedback; verification badges may be given to trusted sellers. (Adjust depending on actual site features.)

 

Safety & Trust

Q: How do you protect users?
A: We encourage transparent listings, clear communication, and reporting of fraud or suspicious behavior. Users can report listings or other users that violate our policies.

Q: What should I do if I suspect a scam?
A: Don’t send money or share sensitive personal info before verifying the other party. Report the listing or user via the “Contact us” or “Support” links.

Q: What are the community guidelines / terms of service?
A: We ask that all users abide by our rules: honest listings, truthfulness, no illegal or prohibited items/services. Full terms of use / community guidelines are available under “Support” or “Help” pages.

 

Payments & Transactions

Q: Does The Kabayan process payments?
